Frequently Asked Questions

How does Botox® treat excessive sweating?

Anti-wrinkle injections inhibit the chemical signals sent by the nerves to activate the sweat glands. If the signals are not received, sweat is not produced.

How effective is anti-wrinkle treatment for excessive sweating?

Botox® is incredibly effective at reducing sweating, lowering levels of underarm sweat to that of your average person. Many clients find such relief from this treatment that they maintain results with top-ups every few months.

How long does it take before underarm sweating reduces after treatment?

It takes 2 weeks for treatment to take full effect, but most clients begin to notice an improvement after 2 – 4 days.

How long does treatment take?

Hyperhidrosis treatment takes up to 45 minutes, during which 15 tiny injections are made under each arm. All injections are delivered swiftly and are minimally invasive.

Do anti-wrinkle injections for underarm sweating hurt?

Though there are numerous injections of Botox® involved, the needles used are extremely fine, ensuring discomfort is kept to a minimum.

Is there anyone who should avoid anti-wrinkle injections?

Botox® injections are suitable for most people aged 18 to 65, but should be avoided if:

  • You’re pregnant or nursing
  • You take aminoglycoside antibiotics
  • You have Myasthenia Gravis or Lambert Eaton Syndrome
  • You have a history of Bell’s Palsy
  • You’re allergic to anti-wrinkle injections, human albumin, or sucrose

It’s important to avoid NSAIDS such as aspirin, vitamin E, St John’s Wort, and ginkgo biloba 7 days before treatment to minimise bruising.

“I would highly recommend Sophie as have had my first Botox treatment with her and am so amazed by the results. I was rather nervous of my forehead looking frozen but it looks very natural and has made me feel so much better about myself. Sophie is very professional but easy to talk to and instantly made me feel at ease. I’m so pleased with the treatment and its definitely money well spent. I’ll be returning soon”
