How do anti-wrinkle injections work?

Anti-wrinkle injections inhibit the signals which instruct your muscles to contract. If you have a facial muscle that works too hard, leading to the development of dynamic lines and wrinkles, anti-wrinkle injections are placed to limit contraction in that area, smoothing out facial lines and leaving you with a fresher, more youthful appearance.

Are anti-wrinkle injections suitable for me?

Botox injections are suitable for most people aged 18 to 65 who wants to smooth out facial lines. Botox is not suitable for pregnant or nursing women, and anyone with a neurological disease.

Do anti-wrinkle injections hurt?

You might feel a minor stinging sensation while the Botox is being injected, but the needles we use are extremely fine, and many clients tell us the treatment is pain free. If you are concerned about discomfort we can apply a topical numbing cream prior to beginning treatment.

When will I see the results of anti-wrinkle treatment and how long will they last?

Results will be visible in 3 – 14 days and typically last around 3 – 4 months. Having regular treatments deliberately weakens the overactive muscle, avoiding the powerful contractions which lead to bunching and dynamic lines in the skin. Weaker muscles are more receptive to further treatments, and many clients find that results last for 6 months instead of 3-4.

What are the possible side-effects of anti-wrinkle treatment?

If you experience side-effects at all they are usually mild, including slight bruising or swelling around the injection sites, and a minor, temporary headache.
