Chemical Peels & Facials

Treat scars, pigmentation, active acne and signs of ageing with a professional facial treatment at So Medical Aesthetics in Colchester.

Regular Facials For Radiant Skin

Our facial skin is more exposed to weather and damage than any other part of our bodies. That’s why regular treatments are key for maintaining its health and youthful appearance.

At our clinic near Essex, our skin specialist Charlotte can help you protect and nourish your facial skin for a radiant and healthy complexion. You can choose from chemical peels or targeted ZO facials. And if you’re expecting or breast feeding, our pregnancy facials can revive your skin’s glow whilst ensuring safety for both you and your baby.

Chemical Peel

A chemical peel involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin, typically on the face and neck. This solution causes the outer layers of the skin to exfoliate and eventually peel off, revealing newer, smoother skin underneath.

After the treatment, the skin may appear red and feel tight or sensitive, but these side effects will usually subside within a few days to a week depending on the peel. At So Medical Aesthetics, we provide three chemical peels.

Our ZO Stimulator Peel contains alpha and beta hydroxy acids to brighten, gentle and resurface the skin. It’s typically used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes and enlarged pores, improving skin tone and texture as a result. The stimulator peel provides immediate results with no downtime.

Our ZO Restorative Peel is a mandelic acid based peel which reduces inflammation found in sensitive, rosacea and acne-prone skin. This peel also helps strengthen the skin for more progressive peels and treatments.

Our ZO 3 Step Peel is a moderate depth peel containing a blend of salicylic, lactic and trichloroacetic (TCA) acid and retinol. It removes multiple layers of skin to promote the production of collagen at a cellular level. This peel can treat acne, scarring, uneven texture, hyperpigmentation and sun damage. However, the skin must be prepped with retinol prior to treatment.

ZO Facials

Our ZO facials combine a range of medically-proven actives to address various concerns. They can be combined with a tightening and line reducing Collagen Eye Mask for the ultimate rejuvenating experience.

Our ZO Complexion Clearing Facial is suitable for acne, congested and blemish prone skin. The skin is cleansed, exfoliated and steamed before clogged pores and blackheads are extracted. A Sulfur Masque is applied whilst you relax and unwind, and the facial is finished with a personalised Tri-Wave MD Dermalux session and the application of ZO skin health products.

Our ZO Calming Facial is suitable for sensitive, irritated, rosacea-prone skin. The skin is cleansed and exfoliated before a calming Aloe Masque is applied to soothe and nourish. The facial is finished with a personalised Tri-Wave MD Dermalux session and the application of ZO skin health products.

Our ZO Brightening Facial is suitable for dull or pigmented skin. The skin is cleansed and exfoliated before a Skin Brightening Masque is applied. The facial is finished with a personalised Tri-Wave MD Dermalux session and the application of ZO skin health products.

Pregnancy Facial

Our Hydropeptide Facial – otherwise referred to as the pregnancy facial – is safe for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. The skin is cleansed and toned using collagen boosting peptides to balance and brighten. A blueberry peel is then applied to remove any surface layer debris, rejuvenate and hydrate the skin.

A nourishing, anti-redness soothing balm protects and deeply hydrates the skin, whilst a blueberry calming mask restores and hydrates.

You can add manual extractions of blackheads and milia to your facial as well as lymphatic drainage for the face and body to help reduce puffiness, water retention and improve circulation.

HydraFacial

A HYDRAFACIAL is a non-invasive skincare treatment that combines several steps to revitalise the skin. It removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities whilst infusing the newly exposed skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturising serums. The treatment is anti-ageing, ideal for acne-prone skin and delivers immediate results.

The frequency of facials can vary depending on several factors, including your skin type, concerns, lifestyle, and budget. As a general guideline, we recommend that our clients repeat our facial treatments once per month.

When Will I See The Results Following A Facial?

Straight after your facial treatment, your skin will appear revitalised, pores will have decreased in size, signs of ageing will have declined and dryness will have subsided.

After a chemical peel, redness is common. However, you can expect to see your results within three days.

Do Facials Support In-Clinic Aesthetic Treatments?

Absolutely! Having a facial can help prepare the skin by removing impurities, excess oil and dead skin cells. This can optimise the efficacy of the subsequent treatment and minimise the risk of adverse reactions.

At So Medical Aesthetics, we’ll create a comprehensive treatment plan that incorporates both in-clinic treatments and facials to address your specific goals effectively.

How Much Do Facials Cost?

Our facials are priced from £85.
